ANTIGONE
Scenestudy, Antigone by Jean Anouilh
ANTIGONE
Ik wil je redden Antigone
Dan laat me loos
.. Nee
Okay
1st year of directing school ended with a scenestudy of no other than Antigone by Jean Anouilh.
What hooked me was a line where Creon describes the two brothers Polecinus and Eteocles' spearing of eachother as "maybe the first time they ever hugged". A hug of death? A somewhat paradoxial moment of loving eachother but also killing eachother?
So naturally I staged the, in a way alike, situation between Creon and Antigone as a spearing of eachother as well.. and therefore melting the two moments in time together.. So really something about violence, love, killing, blood, fighting for life - or death... and a cleaning lady? (dienstmaid)
Music is a remix I did of a The Minds Of 99 song. called "Drømmer Om Livet" (dreaming about life)
